Owl Farm Home Of The "Tannsfield Dexters"
When we moved to France we had fulfilled our dream of owning our very own smallholding, which enabled us to introduce good quality registered, pedigree Dexter Cattle from England.
We are pleased to say that we have done this but sadly, mainly down to health reasons, not for as many years as we had first hoped. However, we are pleased to say that there are now several small breeding herds in France, made up mostly from the original imported cattle that made the long journey over here and of course their offspring, that have been born here since.
The Tannsfield Dexter site will remain, to offer or obtain as much help and information as possible for you, to ensure a happy and stress free life for both man and beast!
Once you have been introduced to your first Dexter we think you will be hooked. They have very individual personalities, are great characters and a pleasure to own, we feel very honoured to have had the time we did with ours.
Our Directory is there for anyone with an interest in Dexter's, to use. Hopefully to help like minded people contact each other. It is always good to have someone to run something by when you are in doubt, as the old saying goes, two heads are better than one! We have some very knowledgable owners out there when it comes to cattle, with years of experience between them and they would be happy for you to "pick their brains". You might like to keep Dexter's for milk, maybe beef or both, some purely wanting to keep Dexters just for the pleasure of owning them, whichever it is, there are always questions to be asked and it is good to share experiences, so please take advantage of these contacts and seek advice – far better to do it prior to, rather than after the "cow" has bolted! The For Sale page will stay for you to advertise anything Bovine for sale, free of charge, also Services, either your own or others, i.e. foot trimming, hay / haylage suppliers, transportation etc.
